Teams Reunited in Cork
We’re all here in Cork
The teams were all reunited as Jake and Kerry arrived in Cork today. It was a fantastic start because the weather was more than what we prayed for. Some of the locals told us that it was the nicest day of the year. The sun was out and there were many students bathing in the sun on the University College of Cork’s campus. We all hit the campus all day after meeting in the afternoon. This was the last day of classes for the students so there will not be many chances to speak with a lot of them as the week progresses. Tonight is the biggest drinking night of the year because bars and restaurants close Thursday night at midnight for Good Friday and the Holy Week. Pray that God uses the conversations and tracts passed out on campus to bring students… [full post]
Another Day in Barcelona
This morning our group visited a park that was surprisingly occupied by many Barcelona natives. This allowed us to hear what people from Barcelona feel about Christianity. Two of the people that we spoke to said that they would be interested in visiting an Evangelical church if there was one here. We met another man from Barcelona sitting on a bench outside of a Catholic church. At the beginning of our conversation with him he was adamant that he did not believe in God, in heaven, or in hell. After speaking with him for about an hour he agreed to take one of our tracts, and we encouraged him to pray that God would reveal Himself to him.
Later in the day, we met two men who were from Israel and invited them to play soccer with us. But first we needed to find a ball to play… [full post]
Many Answered Prayer in Barcelona
Hello once again from Spain!
Things here have been absolutely amazing over the last two days!! God has been doing so much in not only the lives of many people from Barcelona but also the lives of everyone here from Walnut Creek. You walk around our hostel and every place you turn there is a group of people being shared with!! It’s one of the most encouraging things I have ever been part of.
Our group’s last two days have been full of answered prayers and crazy blessing from the Lord. Each morning we wake up and have a small worship/sharing time with all the groups here in Barcelona. After this we head out to our locations. When we reach our location the first thing we do each day is head to the apartment were Stasos and his group are staying. At the apartment we make… [full post]
Talking to Old Friends, Making New
Things are going well in Barcelona. We’ve met hundreds of people. The gospel has gone out many many times… with encouragement each day.
Today Darrin and I met up with an old friend in Barcelona from a couple years ago—Clara. It was great to talk with her. I know that we are really quite good friends, she has shared a lot of her life with us and is quite honest. I see in a very real way the need for fellowship in her life, and just how people were truly created for it, but don’t know what to do with that without a personal relationship with Christ. Thursday Darrin, Clara, and I will meet up with Sergi, pray that his testimony and life would be a great example to her, that she would understand completely the power and complete deity of God—how He is the only way. That… [full post]
Another Day Sharing, Seeing God’s Hand
One crazy thing that happened today was that we had sent an email to the German girls we had met yesterday, telling them that if their schedule allowed, we would meet them at 3 pm at this one metro station. So we had no idea whether or not they even had the chance to read the email or not, but we were there just in case, and they came up with all their friends at 3:05 and had just finished their touring for the day! They had no idea we had sent that email so it was crazy that they just happened to be getting back at that time. It was for sure a God thing so it was really exciting to see it. They werent able to get together then, but we are planning on getting together tomorrow afternoon, so you could be praying about that.
We… [full post]
