First an update from earlier this week– we’ve gotten to see the Italian lady who accepted Christ, Clelia, briefly two days and plan on spending quality time with her tomorrow and pray that it would be a good discipleship time.  She didn’t show up to a date we had made with her but ran into her later on the metro (which is crazy!) and Sara got to talk to her briefly about her life and some hard times she is having.  We took some pictures with her and she started crying seemingly just because some people loved her enough to want her picture.  We are praying that she would learn how to read the Bible, get plugged into a church and be a light to her husband.

Another update– we spent four hours at a cafe with four of the German girls we met a few days ago. … [full post]

A slow but good day.  It was predicted to rain, so the park we usually roam in wasn’t inhabited by young people like it normally is.  So, our group decided to spend a lot of time in prayer, pleading our Lord to do great things on the behalf of those we’ve met the past few days.

God answered some of those prayers already this evening. Our plans to play soccer for the second night in a row turned out even better than we asked. The kids didn’t want to play; they wanted to talk. We spent a couple hours building relationships with about 5 teenage, Barcelona natives, which allowed them to see the love we have toward each other that comes only from Christ. It was they who asked if we could hang out again tomorrow. Pray that those conversations will lead directly into the topic of grace,… [full post]

This morning our group visited a park that was surprisingly occupied by many Barcelona natives.  This allowed us to hear what people from Barcelona feel about Christianity.  Two of the people that we spoke to said that they would be interested in visiting an Evangelical church if there was one here.  We met another man from Barcelona sitting on a bench outside of a Catholic church.  At the beginning of our conversation with him he was adamant that he did not believe in God, in heaven, or in hell.  After speaking with him for about an hour he agreed to take one of our tracts, and we encouraged him to pray that God would reveal Himself to him.

Later in the day, we met two men who were from Israel and invited them to play soccer with us.  But first we needed to find a ball to play… [full post]

Hello once again from Spain!

Things here have been absolutely amazing over the last two days!! God has been doing so much in not only the lives of many people from Barcelona but also the lives of everyone here from Walnut Creek. You walk around our hostel and every place you turn there is a group of people being shared with!! It’s one of the most encouraging things I have ever been part of.

Our group’s last two days have been full of answered prayers and crazy blessing from the Lord. Each morning we wake up and have a small worship/sharing time with all the groups here in Barcelona. After this we head out to our locations. When we reach our location the first thing we do each day is head to the apartment were Stasos and his group are staying. At the apartment we make… [full post]

Things are going well in Barcelona. We’ve met hundreds of people. The gospel has gone out many many times… with encouragement each day.

Today Darrin and I met up with an old friend in Barcelona from a couple years ago—Clara. It was great to talk with her. I know that we are really quite good friends, she has shared a lot of her life with us and is quite honest.  I see in a very real way the need for fellowship in her life, and just how people were truly created for it, but don’t know what to do with that without a personal relationship with Christ.  Thursday Darrin, Clara, and I will meet up with Sergi, pray that his testimony and life would be a great example to her, that she would understand completely the power and complete deity of God—how He is the only way. That… [full post]
