Meeting More People in Ireland
Top of the mornin’ to you! Things in Ireland have been looking good, but there have been challenges as well. Here are some encouraging stories from us and some things you can be praying for.
- Many of us have been praying for people to come up and talk to us during this trip. Today when we were waiting around to go to dinner a group of four teenagers came up to us and asked us where we were from. This turned into a one hour conversation where all four got to hear the gospel. This was a huge blessing and very encouraging. You can be praying that Kerri will read the track and Bible we gave her. We also set up a dinner date with them on Monday, which you can pray that they would show up to.
- Pray that Nellie, a teenager, will accept Christ tonight. She had the… [full post]
Groups Arrive in Cork
Witnessing to a manager of a store of gadgets and sharing the gospel with a professional ballerina were some of the highlights of our trip to Cork for Kerry Poucher and myself (Jake).
All the groups have arrived safely and all the bags except for a couple have made their way to us as well.
This morning Kerry and I were the last to arrive in Cork. We met up with the rest of the teams and went out for a day of evangelizing on the college campus. Teams Reunited in Cork
We’re all here in Cork
The teams were all reunited as Jake and Kerry arrived in Cork today. It was a fantastic start because the weather was more than what we prayed for. Some of the locals told us that it was the nicest day of the year. The sun was out and there were many students bathing in the sun on the University College of Cork’s campus. We all hit the campus all day after meeting in the afternoon. This was the last day of classes for the students so there will not be many chances to speak with a lot of them as the week progresses. Tonight is the biggest drinking night of the year because bars and restaurants close Thursday night at midnight for Good Friday and the Holy Week. Pray that God uses the conversations and tracts passed out on campus to bring students… [full post]
St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland
Here we are in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day! Already we have seen many people wearing the green.
Yesterday we attended an Anglican Church that was light on attendance, heavy on liturgy, and spiritually, sad.
We moved on to an independent Baptist Church for our next service. God was worshiped and the Word was preached.
During the parade we will be assisting the Baptist Church hand out tracs.
We continue to share the gospel and are finding many people far away from understanding and embracing Christianity.
There is much work to be done here...We were blessed to meet an elderly woman who had been a nun. One day, seven years ago, she heard the gospel on the radio. In her words, “she became a Christian”. She left the nunnery and attends the Baptist Church we visited.
It is… [full post]
